The Brooke County Public Service District is taking resumes for a Chief Operator. You will be responsible for a wastewater plant, packaging plant, multiple pump stations and for our waterside that has 120 customers. You will also be responsible for managing and delegating work to employees. Looking for an Operator that holds a WV Class 1 Wastewater License and a WV-Water Distribution License or obtain within 1 year of employment.
The Chief Operator operates the Wastewater Plant- Vac System- Packaging Plant. Conducts inspections of tanks, pumps, valves, and other equipment to identify any issues or malfunctions. Responds to alarms or other indications of system malfunctions and take appropriate action. Monthly and daily paperwork, monthly samples, and monthly budget review. Lift Stations maintenance and repair including electrical. Remove and install pumps.Locate lines and shut customer's water service off for non-payment. You will perform other tasks that are not listed, only apply for this position if you are not afraid of multi-tasking and must be flexible.
This position is full-time 8 hour in person shift with call outs, holidays, overtime and weekends as needed There will be a 90-day probation period. No insurance a monthly stipend is paid and a monthly stipend paid for each water/sewage license held and WV PERS retirement. Must have a High School Diploma/GED and valid driver’s license. Hold Class 1 WV Wastewater License and WV Water Distribution or obtain within 1 year of employment. Must be able to pass background check and drug screening. Starting pay is $21.00 - $25.00 per hour.

Brooke County PSD provides sewer service to approximately 1500 customers in rural Brooke County and water service. We have a 3 member Board of Directors that meets twice a month. We are regulated by the West Virginia Public Service Commission.
